On March 24, 2026 Penn Engineering Online presented an opportunity for prospective students to hear straight from students about what it is like to study with Penn Engineering Online.
Straight from Students: A Conversation with Online Learners
During this webinar, attendees heard firsthand from current Penn Engineering Online students who reflected on their experiences in our MCIT Online graduate program – which is now evolving into the new MAS-CS Online program. This conversation with our online learners covered a range of topics — from managing coursework and building connections in an online environment to applying what they’ve learned as they advance their careers. Our students spoke with Adrienne Yoder, Associate Director of Academic Advising, and shared with the audience about where they started their academic and professional journeys. Through the discussion, they revealed where they are now and how Penn Engineering has influenced their pathway.
Morgan Baggiano, Online Graduate Admissions Manager, also shared practical guidance on next steps for those planning to apply to one of our online master’s degree programs.
Here are the students you’ll hear from in this recording:

Post-Graduation Plans: Software Engineer at AT&T
Through this webinar, you will discover what drew each student the the program and learn what their favorite part of the experience has been so far:
- ” I appreciate how supportive the students are. My experience as a TLP (Teaching & Learning Practicum) has further reinforced that feeling.” — Messon Jia, MCIT Online Student
- “My favorite aspect of the program is the level of support available—from advisors and Teaching Assistants to the professors themselves. I was always able to find the help I needed to succeed. While the program covers very complex topics, I consistently felt supported and was able to grasp the material or access the right resources to help me learn effectively.” — Matthew Koval, MCIT Online Student
- “I really enjoy the course projects! They are the meat of the learning in most classes, as they challenge you to not just think about course material from a conceptual level, but also implement them in a way that feels very industry-relevant. They are also a wonderful opportunity to meet and collaborate with fellow students in the program. These kinds of interactions not only allow you to build community, but also challenge you to learn from your peers who may have more/less/broader industry experience than you.” — Momo Siu, MCIT Online Student
