Flexible Online Format
The Virtual Open House is your opportunity to meet members of our faculty and staff, ask any questions you might have, and get a better feel for the online student experience here at Penn Engineering Online.
Hosted on Zoom using breakout rooms, the Virtual Open House will enable you to rotate freely between various speakers to hear from the people you’re most interested in. Whether you’re ready to dive deep into one of our online degree programs, want to explore a specific facet of the student experience, or just want to listen in on live Q&As to find out how each facet of our team contributes to the success of our students — the staff and faculty in each breakout room will be prepared to answer your questions and provide valuable information regarding their areas of expertise.
The virtual event will kick off with opening remarks from Dr. Boon Thau Loo, who is not only one of our world-class professors, but also serves as Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Global Initiatives. Following introductions, the Breakout Rooms will be opened and participants will then be able to choose how they spend their time by rotating between rooms to hear from various speakers.

Whether you are interested in pursuing an online master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence or data science — Penn Engineering Online has a flexible, innovative pathway for you. These three Breakout Rooms will give you an opportunity to learn more about each online master’s degree from the faculty members leading each program.

ROOM 2: Admissions & Application Support
Find out how the Admissions Team supports prospective students through the entire application process. Hear about eligibility requirements for each of our online master’s degree programs, learn about the holistic application review process, and uncover best practices for building a standout application. Learn how to stay connected with the Admissions Team throughout the application process to receive support from our counselors.

ROOM 3: Financial Aid
Meet a representative from Student Financial Aid and find out how the office assists students with the financial aid application process, Cost of Attendance estimates, and federal student loan eligibility. If you have a question about paying for your online master’s degree program tuition, this team can provide guidance on private loan options, budgeting, and overall financial planning.

ROOM 4: Career Services
Learn how our Career Advisors ensure that students are equipped with the skills, connections, and strategies needed to achieve their career goals. Hear about professional development resources offered to support the growth of our online graduate students, including 1:1 career advising, workshops centered around job search strategies, and exclusive networking events – both virtual and in-person.

ROOM 5: Student Advising & Resources
Learn about the wide range of resources available to help Penn Engineering Online students succeed in their online master’s degree programs. From academic advising and course selection guidance to peer support and mentorship programs, you’ll hear about the many ways our Student Experience team creates a sense of community and belonging — ensuring that studying online does NOT mean studying alone. Our advisors are standing by and ready to provide support from the beginning of a student’s enrollment all the way through to graduation.

ROOM 6: Course Development & Course Management
Meet the Learning Design and Technology team! Gain an insider’s look at how Penn Engineering Online courses are carefully crafted and thoughtfully delivered to students. You will also learn about the course development process, how course content is kept up to date with the latest industry trends and technology, and how students can help shape and deliver aspects of course content themselves. Hear about the tools, materials, and accessibility strategies this team utilizes to empower learners while ensuring a high-quality, engaging student experience.

ROOM 7: Student Involvement & Peer Support
Teaching Assistants | Academic Coaches | Teaching and Learning Practicum
Explore opportunities to serve in a peer support role! If you are interested in being a leader, mentor and resource for classmates, you can become a Teaching Assistant (TA), an Academic Coach or participate in the Teaching and Learning Practicum (TLP). Stop by this room to hear more about these peer support positions including eligibility requirements, the responsibilities associated with each role, and compensation information. Even if you are not interested in joining one of these programs yourself, this is a great opportunity to learn about the many ways our students can access academic and support from their peers who do serve as TAs and mentors.
