How to Apply

It’s always a good idea to start preparing your application early. Applications remain open year round so you can submit your app whenever is most convenient for you. The sooner you apply, the sooner you’ll receive your admissions decision!

Academic Experience

Penn Engineering Online students will have ongoing access to Penn Engineering faculty and TAs through live office hours and discussion forums. Courses are taught by research faculty as well as teaching faculty. Students will also have access to a wide range of student services as well as the Penn Engineering Online Academic Support Team.

How We Evaluate Candidates

We base our decisions on our assessment of your ability to successfully complete the program and the compatibility of your interests with our program. 

You will be notified of your admissions decision through the online application system. We will review your application at the time we receive it up until the final application deadline, and admissions decisions will be released on a rolling basis until our final round of decisions are released. We cannot reveal a decision over the telephone, and we don’t reconsider applications. You can choose to re-apply if your experience changes. 

We review all applications from a holistic perspective, taking into account everything from your grades to your personal statement and letters of recommendation. The application process is straightforward, and we’re here to help.

PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship decisions and admissions decisions are released independently. If you apply early, you may receive an admissions decision early, prior to the scholarship decision release. All scholarship decisions are released on the designated release date.

Due to our new admission process, which allows students to apply at any time and receive admissions decisions on a rolling basis, some of our naming conventions related to admissions timelines have been updated for Spring 2027 and future terms.
